Tajweed when related to the Holy Quran, means recita­tion of the Holy Quran in the way the prophet Muham­mad (PBUH) recited the Quran. Tajweed in gen­eral means ‘to make it fine”. As the Holy prophet was the only per­son who pro­duced the right­est pro­nun­ci­a­tion of the Almighty’s words in the Holy Quran. It is there­fore imper­a­tive to learn Tajweed to apply the same to read the Holy Quran for get­ting exact pro­nun­ci­a­tion and mean­ings of the Quran words..

Why Learn­ing Tajweed is Necessary
Learn­ing Tajweed is nec­es­sary because the glo­ri­ous Islam expanded in just a few decades of its incep­tion to most part of the world. The peo­ple belonged to dif­fer­ent regions in the world and so did their lan­guages. Even alpha­bets of the lan­guages were dif­fer­ent. The Holy Quran is for the entire world and uptil the Day of Judg­ment. With the spread of Islam, Arab and Non-Arab were mixed together but they had much dif­fer­ence in their lan­guages and accents. Even most of the Arabs can not read the Holy Quran with Tajweed. At that time it was feared that in the absence of Tajweed, if the orig­i­nal spo­ken words of the prophets are not pre­served, it might lead to dis­tor­tion of pro­nun­ci­a­tion in the days to come. It was there­fore nec­es­sary that Tajweed rules should be sci­en­tif­i­cally out­lined on uni­form basis for Arabs and Non-Arabs for pre­serv­ing the same word­ing, sounds, accent, pro­nun­ci­a­tion and mean­ings. It is nec­es­sary both for Arabs and Non Arabs to learn Tajweed and apply the Tajweed Rules while read­ing Holy Quran.

Who set the Basic Tajweed Rules and what is the authen­tic­ity of Tajweed rules
No other than the prophet Muham­mad PBUP; as the Holy Quran was revealed to him from Allah the almighty through the most respon­si­ble angel, Jibreel, who instructed the prophet, PBUH how to pro­nounce the words of the Holy Quran. The prophet Muham­mad PBUH taught these rules to his com­pan­ions and they did the same to the fol­low­ers and so on till this day. There­fore it can be surely said that these Tajweed rules were set by the prophet Muham­mad (PBUH) which are being fol­lowed in let­ter and spirit by all reciters of the Holy Quran who recite Holy Quran using the Tajweed rules.

This course has been divided into different levels helping you to progress systematically.

The aim is to achieve QUALITY rather than quantity!

Level 1
• Simple Steps in Quran Reading:
In this first stage, students will be taught how to pronounce the Arabic letters from their specific places, as is required according to the art of recitation in the Arabic language.

Level 2
• Basic Tajweed rules:
In this stage, students will be taught how to pronounce the letters with Tajweed and apply some of the rules. Students will complete Juz 30 as well as memorise the last 10 surahs.

Level 3
• Khatam (Completion) of the Quran:
In this stage, students will be required to recite from Juz 1 to 29 and also memorise some of the important surahs such as Yaseen, Mulk, Waqia etc.

Alongside studying the Quran, students are required to improve their character by applying what is learnt in lessons. This method of learning has been devised  personally by famous Islamic scholars who have endowed their students  with this invaluable treasure. Eliminating the dependence on translations  for all students irrespective of their mother tongue is  nothing short of a miracle. .4-Tarteel Course Tarteel meas “Recitation.” It is used in al-Qur’an in Surah Muzammil,  verse 4, as Allah(TA) instructs the Prophet saying- “Wa rattilil qur’aana  tarteelaa” ,“and recite the Qur’an in slow measured rhythmic tones” . The Arabic for “slow, measured rythmic tones” is tarteel. Tarteel is the  term used to define the rules that explain how to recite the Qur’an in  the way and manner that the angel Jibreel(AS) to our beloved  Messenger(SAWS). Tajweed means “Improving,” or “to make  something better.” Tajweed is a manner of beautifying the  recitation of the Qur’an by reciting in a much slower manner  than tarteel. When praying, we recite with TARTEEL,  not TAJWEED . Tajweed is a form of recitation in which  the rules of TARTEEL are used. Therefore, when discussing the  rules of recitation, the proper term to use is TARTEEL, for one  cannot learn tajweed without first learning Tarteel .“Whoever  does not chant the Qur’an is not among us”. (Abudaawuud).  This course will be for those who are mastered in Tajweed  rules and would like to start learning the skills of being  an excellent in Quran recitation and Quran instructor and  want teaching others to read the holy Quran  .
