Ibn Umar reported:


Ibn Umar reported: He would kill snakes until Abu Lubaba narrated to him that the Prophet, peace and blessings be upon him, has forbidden the killing of domesticated snakes, so Ibn Umar refrained from killing them.
[Sahih Bukhari, Book 54, Hadith 530]
عَنْ ابْنِ عُمَرَ أَنَّهُ كَانَ يَقْتُلُ الْحَيَّاتِ فَحَدَّثَهُ أَبُو لُبَابَةَ أَنَّ النَّبِيَّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ نَهَى عَنْ قَتْلِ جِنَّانِ الْبُيُوتِ فَأَمْسَكَ عَنْهَا
