“Look to those with a lesser status than you


Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Look to those with a lesser status than you and do not look to those with a higher status, lest the favors of Allah seem insignificant to you.
[Sahih Muslim, Book 42, number 7070]

عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ قَالَ  قَالَ رَسُولُ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ انْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ أَسْفَلَ مِنْكُمْ وَلَا تَنْظُرُوا إِلَى مَنْ هُوَ فَوْقَكُمْ فَهُوَ أَجْدَرُ أَنْ لَا تَزْدَرُوا نِعْمَةَ اللَّهِ
صحيح مسلم – إذا نظر أحدكم إلى من فضل عليه في المال والخلق فلينظر إلى من هو أسفل منه ممن فضل عليه
 

“One who strives to help a widow


Abu Huraira reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “One who strives to help a widow or the poor is struggling in the cause of Allah.”

“I asked: O Messenger of Allah,


Fasilah reported that her father said, “I asked: O Messenger of Allah, is it tribal bigotry for a man to love his people?” The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “No, rather tribalism is to support your people when they are committing oppression.”

An Arab bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah and said,


Abu Huraira reported: An Arab bedouin came to the Messenger of Allah and said, “O Messenger of Allah, tell me about a deed if I did I would enter Paradise.” The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Worship Allah and associate nothing with Him, establish the prescribed prayers, give the obligatory charity, and fast the month of Ramadan.” The man said, “By him in whose hand is my soul, I will not add and subtract anything from this.” When the Prophet heard this, he  said, “Whoever would like to look at a man from Paradise, then look at him.

Book of Faith, Chapter: Faith by which a person will enter Paradise
عَنْ أَبِي هُرَيْرَةَ  أَنَّ أَعْرَابِيًّا جَاءَ إِلَى رَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ فَقَالَ يَا رَسُولَ اللَّهِ دُلَّنِي عَلَى عَمَلٍ إِذَا عَمِلْتُهُ دَخَلْتُ الْجَنَّةَ قَالَ تَعْبُدُ اللَّهَ لَا تُشْرِكُ بِهِ شَيْئًا وَتُقِيمُ الصَّلَاةَ الْمَكْتُوبَةَ وَتُؤَدِّي الزَّكَاةَ الْمَفْرُوضَةَ وَتَصُومُ رَمَضَانَ قَالَ وَالَّذِي نَفْسِي بِيَدِهِ لَا أَزِيدُ عَلَى هَذَا شَيْئًا أَبَدًا وَلَا أَنْقُصُ مِنْهُ فَلَمَّا وَلَّى قَالَ النَّبِيُّ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ مَنْ سَرَّهُ أَنْ يَنْظُرَ إِلَى رَجُلٍ مِنْ أَهْلِ الْجَنَّةِ فَلْيَنْظُرْ إِلَى هَذَا
صحيح مسلم كتاب الإيمان باب بيان الإيمان الذي يدخل به الجنة وأن من تمسك بما أمر به دخل الجنة
 

“Which of the people is best?”


Abdullah ibn Amr reported: It was said to the Messenger of Allah, “Which of the people is best?” He صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “Everyone who is pure of heart and truthful in speech.” They said, “Truthful in speech we know, but what is a pure heart?” He said, “It is a heart that fears Allah and is clean. There is no sin in it and neither aggression, rancor, or envy. ”

Book of Az-Zuhd (Asceticism), Chapter: Caution and God-fearingness
عَنْ عَبْدِ اللَّهِ بْنِ عَمْرٍو قَالَ  قِيلَ لِرَسُولِ اللَّهِ صَلَّى اللَّهُ عَلَيْهِ وَسَلَّمَ أَيُّ النَّاسِ أَفْضَلُ قَالَ كُلُّ مَخْمُومِ الْقَلْبِ صَدُوقِ اللِّسَانِ قَالُوا صَدُوقُ اللِّسَانِ نَعْرِفُهُ فَمَا مَخْمُومُ الْقَلْبِ قَالَ هُوَ التَّقِيُّ النَّقِيُّ لَا إِثْمَ فِيهِ وَلَا بَغْيَ وَلَا غِلَّ وَلَا حَسَدَ

not be stung


Ibn Umar reported: The Messenger of Allah صلى الله عليه وسلم said, “The believer should not be stung twice from the same hole.
